This accompanies an article about private vs public funding for the media industry. There's the fear that if it's too privatized (and therefore deregulated and totally profit-driven), the corporations can get too powerful and take over. No innovation, no consumer choice, and no competitive pricing. Of course, a government-granted monopoly (like Canada had in many cases in the early years) can run into very much the same trouble. Forget the battle between government and big business. Neither institution is particularly democratic. So, who do you want to get ripped off by?
This is the only image I spent any decent time on.
Especially the Jesus-fish on the first guy, and the crossbones on the second.
Terribly sorry for the mix-up. *feels un-college like*
And w/out stereotypes, political cartoons would be damn near impossible, now wouldn't they?
Well, at least I learned something.
