My black staedtler filled with hopes and ink.
Twenty minutes, I’ll sit down to think.
Never thought I would get better a-a-a-a-at this.
Thought it a thousand times but no-o-o-o-ow I’m losing hope.

Here in my bedroom,
I try
To draw.
I know I’m not very good
But I’m not giving up this early on.

Months of practice and it’s pretty slow.
Sketchbook screams out and I whisper “no.”
Pen’s gone dry, my pencil broke, I do-o-on’t know what to draw.
Giving up is not an option, try-y-y-y-ying this hard.

Turn to a fresh page.
If I Were EmployedIf I Were Employed
(to the tune of “If I Were a Boy” by Beyonce)

If I were employed
Going to work every day
I’d get up on time every morning
And put on something boring

And go.

I’d smile and say “hi,”
As coworkers arrive
Clocking in at the office
No one’s doing what they wanted
And someone moved my cheese.

If I were employed
I think my passion would fade
But at least I could pretend
Good god, at least I’m getting paid.

Be stuck nine to five
Pushing papers all day.
When you lose a job you hated
You still miss your measly earnings
Cuz now your income has gone away.

Let's hear it for Corner Gas! Let's hear it for winter! Let's hear it for lame punchlines!
So far, ever episode of Corner Gas has taken place in summer...So I made a winter one! ;)
In the process, I have learned two valuable lessons.
1. Anime creeps into my style whether I intend it to or not. Gotta work on that.
2. Regardless of the style, Brent is REALLY hard to draw. I like that first panel, though, cuz it actually looks like Karen.

hah, that's so funny! I too wonder why they didn't do corner gas in winter. I guess so then the camera and equiptment wouldn't get frozen up, wet or broken
