The Night Prince - Chapter TwoChapter TwoIn Which Lucia Runs Into TroubleBracing against the midnight wind, Lucia wrapped her cloak around herself a little tighter. As the night grew ever colder, she knew had to find somewhere to take shelter. Her first thought was of the farm. The place was familiar and she would be welcome there. Besides, it was relatively nearby and she wanted very much to get out of the cold. She set off towards the farm, although the fearsome winds made the journey quite difficult. As she neared the farmhouse, she heard a frightful cry. It was Hellbred. The beast had gotten out of its stable, likely to investigate the curiously noisy storm. Now it was stranded in the open field with no way to get back inside. Lucia approached carefully. When the beast saw her, it whinnied and kicked, galloping around her in a wide circle. Lucia lowered her hood and showed her face.
