(to the tune of "Home for a Rest" by Spirit of the West)
You'll have to excuse me.
I'm slightly obsessed
With games and cartoons
That set sprites on a quest.
These fandom conventions
Put me to the test.
I'm so psyched for the con
I may start acting messed.
We arrived at the Doubletree
Counting the days
'til the frivolous joy
Of that weekend in May.
The hordes of cosplayers
Lined up 'round the block
But soon we got in
And found people to stalk.
You'll have to excuse me.
I'm slightly obsessed
With the games and cartoons
That set sprites on a quest.
And these fandom conventions
Put me to the test.
I'm so psyched for the con
I may start acting messed.
An-i-me!
All hopped up on Pocky,
I started to swoon
When our group reached the din
Of the swag dealer's room.
I should wait 'til Sunday
When prices go cheap,
But I'll spring for a Cloud plushie
'though it's still steep.
You'll have to excuse me.
This con is a nest
For the freaks and the geeks
Who will live life with zest.
And between Artists' Alley
And voice actor guests,
This here Anime North
Is one primo nerdfest.
An-i-me!
The best part of AN
Which brings me most cheer:
My reunion with friends
I see just once a year.
We catch up on anime,
Manga, and toys.
And then we'll play some games
That make us shout "sugoi!"
You'll have to excuse me.
I've become a pest,
But these days at AN
Are unlike all the rest.
To be an otaku,
I truly am blessed.
I'm so psyched for the con,
I just might be obsessed.
An-i-me!
(I'm the pretty soldier of love and justice.)
(Believe it!)
(All your base are belong to us.)
(It's over 9000!)
(Looks like I'm blasting off aga-a-a-ain!)
